My hard drive failed and a friend installed another one that works microsoft office 2010 starter free free installed windows 8 on it which I don't like and am not microsoft office 2010 starter free free with as I have been using windows 7 forever. I was told that I could get Windows Office Starter for free since I don't have it on my computer anymore and my purchased version of Microsoft Office Home and Student no longer works because I had to reformat my old hard drive too many times and I reinstalled it too many times Wtarter guess.

Anyway, I went to the google search engine and after being scammed once I downloaded office starter and it said frer was a free version, but when I tried to install it, it wanted a product key, which of course I don't have because I did not purchase anything. What's up with that? Is offcie still a free trial version?

If so, where do I download it and how do I install it on this Windows 8 version? Actually, all I really want and use is the Word program. A condition of that supply was that they should make it available in a format for re-installation should it be necessary. I don't believe it was specified how this should be microeoft. As far as I am aware there are no official download channels for the Fere version, though no doubt you can find another source, at your own risk, with some digging via your search engine.
